This is a wonderful place to find the outfit needed for that special party. I often drive there to shop and find that it is a very happy experience. The clothes are a full range of day and evening wear so I often leave with some great outfits and they are worn constantly as favorites in my wardrobe. I have recently moved to the area from London and I have found that Ambiance is a shop in which I can happily browse around with very kind and helpful staff who dont overcrowd you yet are there on hand to assist me when I pull out masses of clothes to try on and offer great advice when asked. I have had the pleasure of going into Ambience for nearly 20years. Without doubt this ladies fashion shop keeps up to date with all the ʼfashion of the momentʼ without catering for those who may want to discard their clothes after only one season. Indeed, I have had the pleasure of being able to wear some of my clothes for many years and still feel ʼup to dateʼ. I had been looking for an outfit for my sons wedding, and was looking for a PRESEN outfit, I came across Ambience on the PRESEN web-site, from the first call everything went so smoothly, the recipent of my phonecall was so especially knowledgable of the product I was looking for, and I arranged to visit. The selection they offered was outstanding and thier attention to my every requirement was something so very rare these days, I was hooked, so much that I purchased 3 . items, the wedding went off so memorably with so many complementary comments, and I'm also now enjoying my MICHEL AMBERS suit and KELLO coat.Need I say more and I look forward to my next visit to a fantastic FASHION destination. 2 Aug 2009What a great shop Ambiance is. Not only do they stock a fabulous range of outfits for weddings, they also have a wide choice of everyday clothing. I was particularly excited by the NYDJ jeans which are incredibly flattering and well worth the price. Thank you Ambiance for ending my eternal search for a fab pair of jeans! Well done to the staff who are so patient and very helpful.

For the special occasion the choice is amazing with accessories to match, and the ever patient staff will help with suggestions. 30 Jul 2009Ambiance truly lives up to its name, providing a special atmosphere. There are always helpful and useful ideas from the friendly staff. If one prefers to just browse one can do so without a feeling of pressure to purchase. The staff is particularly adept at mixing and matching and suggesting a scarf or piece of jewellery which just completes the outfit. There is a wide range of clothes for both formal and leisure wear. Clothes are beautifully designed in lovely fabrics and colours. All sizes are well catered for. I recommend a " look see".

The clothes and accessories are wonderful and there is always something available for any occasion to suit all ages. And you definitely come away with something that is just right for you and makes you feel good. Regular visits ensure you have first choice of the latest collections and something just that little bit different. So do visit the shop and experience a pleasant way of shopping!
Ambiance of Colchester - love 'em to bits!
Many will say that Ambiance is the shop for weddings- but it is so much more than that. They stock a wide variety of stylish makes from casual to 'grand' in various price ranges. They know me and my, and I am sure their other clients, likes and dislikes and what suits me . I love it when they ring and let me know that something I might like has come in- I have been known to complain when they didn't let me know something was in!! They are very good at helping me put things together- I get my fair share of compliments. I love their costume jewellery- funky and unusual. Their Sales are legendary- I have friends who live in Bromley and Yorkshire who come to Colchester just for their Sales! Best of all I like it that they won't sell me something which doesn't look good on me.
